After being cooped up indoors for most of the Christmas and New Year period and eating numerous Christmas dinners, I was more than ready to get back into the swing of things!

So a few days ago we got wrapped up and went for a walk up to Dunford Bridge which lies beneath Winscar Reservoir. There is plenty of car parking and it forms part of the Trans Pennine Trail.

Its a perfect place to take the kids as, being an old railway line you can let them run off and there is no where for them to get lost!! Being long and flat its also great for dusting off the bikes and going for a ride.

You can go as far as you like within you and your families capabilities and its great to go back and try to get that little bit further next time!

You don’t need any fancy pants gym machines or fads, just get wrapped up, grab the family and go on an adventure. Don’t be put off by the cold or bad weather, as long as you are wearing the right gear you will be fine.

It can be a bit muddy in parts so the kids will love splashing in all the puddles.  Here are a few of my favourite websites for kids winter wrap up gear!
