My Year In Fitness – Day 3 #MYIF2014

Feeling tight from yesterdays work out,  especially in my legs, so I have done 30 minutes gentle walking plus an additional flexibility and stretching session.

Stretching is often overlooked in training programmes but it is crucial and helps to remove the waste products that build up as a result of exercise (mainly lactic acid).

Static stretching should never be done with cold muscles so its best left till the end of a work out. Instead incorporate dynamic stretches into your warm up.
